NET means "National Eligibility Test" and this test is basically for to become a lecturer in colleges or Junior Research Fellow (JRF). If you want to make a career in teaching profession (lectureship) and research as a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) than you can apply for NET (National Eligibility Test).
Friends the minimum eligibility criteria for NET is as under:

- You must be a Post Graduate from any university recognized by UGC with minimum of 55 % marks and 50 % in case of OBC/ SC/ ST/ PWD (Persons with disability) categories.
- If you are appearing at the qualifying Master’s degree (final year) examination then also you are eligible for the exam.
