Friends once upon a time there lived a hare and a tortoise. One day the hare started to make fun of the tortoise by saying, “my, my, oh look at you, you look so lazy, you move too slow, you will never get far, as it takes a lot of time for you to move from one place to another!”
The tortoise was very upset. He got very angry and annoyed with the taunt of the hare. The tortoise burst out in anger, “oh is that the thing, let’s have a race together and see who is faster, you or me!”
The hare started to laugh loudly and said, “oh tortoise, you must be joking! But alright, if you insist, we are going to have a race competition and see who is faster. So both the hare and tortoise decided to start a race competition. The hare shouted let’s see who reaches the other side of the hill first, and started to race, leaving the tortoise behind.
After reaching the halfway the hare looked back and found that there was no sign of tortoise. He took out some carrots and sat under the shades of a tree and started to chewing carrots. Soon he started to feel sleepy. The hare decided to take a nap in the meanwhile, thinking that he can still win the race even if the tortoise catches up with him. Soon the hare fell into sleep. On the other hand the tortoise was walking slowly and steadily. Soon he crossed the sleeping hare. Sometimes later when the tortoise was almost near the finishing line the hare woke up and saw that the
tortoise is about to win the race. The here started to run in full speed but in vain. The tortoise crossed the finishing line and won the race.
